Cricket Data Card Slat-Wall Display Print

The Cricket Data Card Slat-wall Display was a difficult security challenge. Our job was to design and produce a secure display that would incorporate a working laptop and two external data entry cards, each about the size of a flash drive.

Theft has always been a major concern in the electronic and wireless industries. You want the customer to have access to the product, but still keep it secured from theft. Dummy phones and laptops have been used for this purpose for a, number years. They are not an ideal solution but they cut down on loss and allow the customer to get a feel for the phone or laptop of their choice.  Since this was a live demo we did not have the option to use dummy devices, we had to secure and use the actual product.

Leasing in the Marketplace Print

Leasing in the MarketplaceLeasing is a growing trend in the marketplace. We lease automobiles, railroad cars, aircraft, buildings, machinery. Almost anything including franchises can be leased today.

While we think of it as the modern way of financing, it is really a very old way of doing business.  In the ancient city of Ur around 2010 BC clay tablets showed us that priests leased agricultural tools to farmers, who rented their land. Egyptians, Greeks, and Romans leased their property. Ancient Phoenicians even leased ships for trading to local merchants.

Jeff’s Corner - 2007-12-02 Entry Print

As the end of the year approaches, so does the name of our company, DNI Marketing.  We will begin the New Year with a new name DNI Retail Design. Marketing, of course is still involved but it is only one part of being a single source provider of retail services to the Franchise and Chain Store Industry.

We believe that our new name better reflects what we do and that is, design and build stores.

With that new name, it also became apparent to me that a new website was needed to go along with the name change.

Opening Franchise Stores Print

Are you loosing revenue because you can't open stores quickley enough?

Time the opening of your next store with our watch. How long does it take? Hours? …Days? … Months?..... Forever? If the cash register isn’t ringing your losing money.

It’s not he amount of franchises you sell, it’s the amount of stores you open that makes your franchise a success.

Most companies in our industry design a one of a kind store and extend the design into a matrix for multiple stores.  This is a slow and expensive way to build a franchise.

Guidelines for Planning Your Store Print

Planning Your Store With an Eye to the Future.

Jeff’s Corner: I recently received a call from a franchisor who told me that sales were down in his franchised stores. He attributed much of this to the fact that the stores were beginning to show wear and they were not up to date or customer friendly. He said that the franchisees could not afford a major rehab but something had to be done.

He was right his stores did need a rehab, which could be affordably implemented using a modular plan over a period of time.  The point of this article however is that the franchisor did not do his homework before building the first store. If they had, the store build outs would have been constructed with an eye to the future.
